Today let’s enjoy a song<Yankee Doodle>
Yankee Doodle went to town riding on a pony,
Stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni.
Yankee Doodle keep it up, Yankee Doodle dandy!
Mind the music and the step and with the girls be handy.
Father and I went down to camp along with Captain Gooding.
There were all the men and boys as thick as hasty pudding.
And there was Captain Washington
Upon a slapping stallion.
Giving orders to his men I guess there were a million.
Yankee Doodle give a tune, it comes in mighty handy.
The enemy all runs away at Yankee Doodle dandy!
Next let’s enjoy an English story.
The Lion and the Mouse(狮子与老鼠)
Long long ago, there was a lion and a mouse in a wood. The lion was great , but the mouse was small.
Once the great lion was sleeping under a tree. The little mouse happened to come and ran over his face. The lion awoke, “Oh, it’s you, little mouse. You wake me up!” Then he caught the little mouse in anger, and was going to kill her. “ Oh, dear kind Lion!” cried the little mouse. “ Please forgive me. I didn't mean to do you any harm. Let me go. I’ll return your kindness.”
“ Ha, ha, ha,” laughed the lion. “ How can a little thing like you help a great lion?’’ “Kind Lion! Let me go, please. I hope I’ll do something for you.’’ said the little mouse. “OK, little mouse, go away.” “Thank you very much.” Some time after this, the lion was caught in a trap. Just then the little mouse came along. She saw the lion in the trap. She said,” Don’t worry, Mr Lion. I’m coming.” At once she ran up to the lion, and said, “ You were very kind to me once. Now I'll save your life, and repay you the kindness which you showed me the other day.” Soon she gnawed the ropes of the trap with her sharp teeth, and the lion was happy to be free again. “ Thank you, little Mouse! You save my life.” said the lion. Then the great lion and the little mouse were good friends.
It is possible for even a Mouse to confer benefits on a Lion.
